Goals.

Goal 1 - get 2 school aged kids into one room before school starts.
Sound easy enough til you factor in all their toys and clothes and the new furniture to buy and deciding if we can afford new carpet and paint... and exactly how this is all going to occur while they and the baby are underfoot....
Goal 2 - get myself disciplined enough to begin a DAILY read of my Bible.
Sure, I read my Bible... when I'm looking something up, when I'm going through a hard time for a week or so when I'm trying to start a habit, but I just don't have the internal desire to be in God's word WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!?! Ok, so I know that there isn't anything wrong with me, exactly. I have spoken to a friend about it (Hi Jenilee :) And her first suggestion was to get a new Bible. It seems that the one I've had since high school may not be the best, most motivating option for grown-up Tori. And then she told me to be disciplined about just doing it and praying about it and God will give me the desire and He will open up the scripture to me. To me, its not the living thing everyone says it is, even my newly saved husband! I'm envious of how much he desires to be in God's word and notices a difference in his day if he does not spend time reading one of his many bibles (I think he's up to 5 now :)
*by the way, Baby is taking a really late nap and the others are at the waterpark with Nana - I love Nana!! I should be starting dinner.... *
Goal 3 - get the basement cat spayed.
It has kinda been a monetary/ scheduling thing. But thanks to Uncle Sam, and the fact that my son's orthodontics aren't as costly as once expected (only $1200 instead of $2400 - yes, no decimal point) this has become a priority. Besides, my husband wants his basement back.
Goal 4 - get rid of a whole lot of stuff.
It seems that for the past five years, cleaning in our house has meant "move piles from room to room until they end up in the basement." That just has to stop.
Goal 5 - get to Arizona to see my sister before she has her baby, her first!!
Still working on finding an affordable ticket.... hotel and rental car reservations to follow.
Goal 6 - get my hair cut.
Doesn't sound like much but it has been a goal since April...
Goal 7 - spend as much time as possible doing really fun stuff with my kids before school starts and still manage to accomplish all these other goals!!
That's all I can think of for now. Others may come up as the summer progresses, I'll include them and number them accordingly. For now thawed steak is calling to me from the fridge :)
